My 25565 port won't open?

i'm trying to open port 25565 on my router to host a minecraft server and i set the virtual server to allow the port for both UDP and TCP under the IP 192.168.2.2, which IS the correct IP my machine runs on, listed under IPv4 on my ipconfig. I made sure that the port is enabled and i added the minecraft file to the firewall programs to be allowed. And yet the port is remaining unopen, checked with yougetsignal.com. I even turned off my firewall to see if it was the problem, possibly blocking the port, but the port remained closed even with my firewall off. My ISP is Comcast, and my internet line does run through the modem prior to running to my router, then into my PC. I am not wirelessly connected.
